Menomonie, Wisconsin Ghost Tales The ghost of a little girl in a red dress has been seen in a house that used to be a Funeral home.  She has been known to play hide and seek, run back and forth in the basement, and play tricks on the many residents of this house.  Also in this house, there is an older gentleman wearing dark clothes and a dark hat walking around upstairs where the mortician for the funeral home used to live, he is called ''the caretaker.''. I said ''there is no room'' and the voice said ''it does not matter.'' It felt warm and I didn't question it till the next morning, when I knew there wasn't any small children in the house. A friend living in the house had dreams of a little boy crying and pulling his hair out. Later when in the basement I saw a dark shadow of a man, I felt as if my heart fell to the floor. I knew I wasn't  alone, before       I could find where the shadow was coming from it was gone. Upon researching the house, it was found that a man hung himself in the basement sometime in the 20's -his name is Joseph Hovey- not sure what that has to do with a little boy- also, a woman can be heard sometimes on the back porch and in the yard saying over and over as if looking for someone ''Hello'' ''Hello'' Hello''. Ghosts are so standard here; many locals don’t even think about it anymore.
