I found this in the historical society photos. I heard exactly the same story from my great great grandmother. I wonder which of these guys is the ghost! It looks to have been taken in the vicinity of the Cosmo Theatre with the current Ace hardware building visible in the background. I hope this helps confirm the stories. As I said, I am familiar with the story and my mother always told us as kids not to go by the trestle bridge leading to the 6th Ward in Merrill, as the spook would play his trumpet and get us. It worked! We never went there!
