Montello, Wisconsin Ghost Tales I was sitting on the computer one day and my brother was outside playing with his ''Imaginary friend'' and just all the sudden I heard a young boy's voice with a British accent talking out there. Chairs shift about, shrieks out of the darkness. Folks who have never stayed overnight in this municipality will say to you it's untrue, but the undeceased spirits of Montello are all too real. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. An enormously chilling ghost was noticed stacking bricks on the water's edge of Buffalo Lake. The spirit spoke about revenging a murder. Several of the people who live in this town allege this ghost takes pleasure in scaring foolhardy       people who come trying to find ghosts in Montello. The ghost of an aged lady carrying a shot gun showed up striding through a Montello area cemetery. The witness was terrified and fled. The ghost of a waitress was distinguished up on Observatory Hill looking for a book. The ghost didn't seem to be troubled by the onlookers. The   ghost of an old Indian chief was seen gulping apple juice in the center of Grand River. When the phantom was observed it faded away into the air. If you talk to the folks who live here, this ghost can be the spirit of a local who died here in Montello before the present. The ghost of an old cleaning lady has regularly been made out in Grand River State Wildlife Area at the stroke of midnight smoking a pipe. The ghost of a young-looking lady dressed as a house keeper is regularly distinguished gazing at the water by Harrisville Dam very late at night. The ghost of a dispossessed man can often be spotted hanging out in an empty house in Montello. The ghost of a young cowboy has now and then been noticed standing by a desolate road near Montello. In any case, this is a horrible ghost that you shouldn't go trying to find. The spirit of a miner is occasionally spotted mounted on a motorcycle on a dark road near Montello. No matter what, it's a scary ghost that should be left alone. The ghost of a gentleman clad as a janitor is rumored to have been seen on a handful of instances in Devil's Lake State Park outside the park headquarters attempting to utter something.
