My mom was downstairs she doesn't go to bed right away. My sister was asleep. I did not want to be a baby so I did not go tell my mom. Nothing else happened but you never know!.

I moved to Sparta 22 years ago and into the home 20 years ago. It is currently for sale because I relocated with my company so don't want to disclose the street name in the event the thought of lingering spirits is unnerving to the reader/potential home buyer.
As a young family (husband and 2 yr. Old son) we moved into an older farmhouse built in 1910 which is now surrounded by a neighborhood just one block away from the old children's home in Memorial Park in Sparta. A couple years later we added another son to the family. We took advantage of the home layout and moved the master bedroom to the ''family room'' area and left the two bedrooms upstairs for the boys.
As a newer Mom, I recall several times being awakened by ''Mommy, mommy, mommy''. Not a panicked cry but a typical young child wakened in the middle of the night needing comfort to get back to sleep. I would go upstairs and check on each of the boys, all is fine, so I would return to bed. Through the years I would go through the same routine waking and not knowing if it was a dream or a real cry from one of the boys. Each time it was always three cries of ''Mommy''. Not scary or threatening.
As time went on I kept thinking that boys just woke and fell back to sleep before I got up to check on them. This went on for years with never thinking anything of it. As the boys grew, it seemed odd but out of habit would always check just in case. My boys are now 22 and 18 and as early as a month ago I was awaken by the same call of ''Mommy, mommy, mommy''. Never anything threatening or scary, unless you get yourself psyched up over the thought.
There is always the argument that the lights were left on and various things were hidden, but I attribute that to the males in the home having a 3 second attention span. Of course, someone else put the keys somewhere and you remembered to turn the light off. I could be wrong but I would be remiss to say this was odd behavior for any home. Being close in proximity to the State Child Center would lend to lingering younger presence opportunity. I am sad to leave whomever my be needing the comfort of a Mom. I will say that as a Mom, it actually comforted me knowing that a child chose to seek my maternal oversight and I hope I was able to provide some level of peace.
