I live on North 2nd Street and Division. The house was the old vics tap bar. As I was told, I don't know if anyone has passed in my house, but you definitely hear things open and close as well as foot steps. Things get moved without us doing it.|

We live in a '' haunted'' home on Cleveland Street in Watertown. I think it is important to know the house was built in 1851. It has been referred to in history books about Watertown as being and exact replica of the original owner's home in Bavaria. It was called the ''Small Eagle House'' because of the eagle embellishments that were placed over each window outside. Now they have deteriorated and cannot really be made out as to what they are. This original owner's family throughout the centuries has been very well known with a long line of history in Watertown. He erected many of the historical buildings in the downtown area, including the first city hall.
Just within the past week a few other things have happened. My husband and I were watching TV when we heard a sound from our bathroom. I went to investigate. I figured one of our cats was doing something mischievous in there. However, both cats were found in the kitchen on the chairs sound asleep. I checked everywhere in the bathroom and then checked behind the shower curtain to find that my razor was lying on the shower floor. My razor has a suction cup holder that keeps it in one location and holds it tightly in a deep container and the container was still attached to the wall inside the shower. It cannot move without me pulling it out. I replaced it and went back to the living room. About three minutes later we heard the same noise, and I again found the razor on the floor in the same place it was the first time. I put it back and that was it. My husband and I just smiled at each other and did not say a word.
Twice one day I had one of our inside doors open so we could have just our storm door open to get some fresh air. I was talking to a friend on the phone when I watched the door very slowly and steadily close. I opened it again. Finished with my call and went to the basement to get laundry, when I came back up; it was closed again. I really do not get scared by these things anymore. The only time I feel uneasy is in the basement and sometimes in what is our granddaughter's room when she visits. It was mainly her closet. I keep it closed and never go in it or even look at it really. Our granddaughter is going to be four years old, and it does not seem to bother her other than I have to keep a small lamp on as well as the hall light on and her door open. She tells me every night before she goes to sleep not to let the monster get her and that our cats chase the monsters away. That is why she wants the door open. I always tell her if she needs to, she should come wake me up. I tell her that it is my job to make sure everything is happy and safe for her. So far the only time she wakes me up is when the sun comes up in the morning. .

About six years ago we bought our home on Cleveland Street. We soon found out from friends and people who either lived in the house or knew someone that lived in the house that it had a strong history of being haunted. In 1978, there was also an article written in The National Enquirer of an interview with a family that lived in this house only for three months that year. They were so frightened that they felt they had to move away. Since we have moved in I have seen and heard a dark figure going into our bathroom and then shut the door. At first I believed it to be my daughter or her boyfriend. However, as I passed by I noticed that the door was wide open, and no one was in there or had gone in there because my daughter and her friend were outside. I also had a very uneasy feeling in our basement as if I was being watched.
