I grew up in Lake in the Hills. When I was a kid I remember I was home alone with my younger sister watching television in my living room. I remember it was summer out and around lunch time. We had a picture frame that sat atop the television, and just out of nowhere the picture frame flew off the television for no reason. I had no explanation for how an object can simply fly off the TV as if it was being thrown at my feet.
Also occasionally when I was lying in bed trying to go to sleep all of a sudden something would scream in my room. It was a blood curdling scream and would scare me half to death.
One time I was older, and I was over at the house one day watching football on the couch downstairs with my dad. My mom was out shopping, and our two dogs were downstairs with us. We were the only ones home watching the Bears. My parents' bathroom is directly above the living room (where we were), which is tiled. Clear as day you could hear something walking around upstairs in their bathroom in boots. My dad heard it too since I mentioned something and he couldn't quite figure it out either. The walking around went on for a minute or so and suddenly stopped. We went up stairs to check it out, and there was no one up there.

I used to work at The Fountains Assisted living on the top floor on second shift from 3pm to 11pm at night. On several occasions, some employees would report someone grabbing them down one hallway and the reports become consistent among all three shifts. The patient on this hallway would always complain of seeing children playing in the hallway or in their closets.
Each patient room was an individual apartment and some patients had a form of dementia and some were all there mentally. When in the basement looking for supplies, there were always sounds of footsteps and banging on the pipes. I have never seen her but there are also reports of an older woman leading people to the end of another hallway and disappearing by the back staircases. There are many occurrences in this building and I was only employed there for a year.
