Dow, Illinois Ghost Tales

From the outside Dow, Illinois seems like a customary settlement, but after dusk you could perceive some terrifying things. Couches slide around, sounds coming out of the night. Folks who have never stayed for a few days in this city will laugh and say it's all myths, but everybody who has settled in Dow is not alive.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The ghost of a street bum was seen smoking a pipe beside the water at Williams Point. When the ghost was observed it disappeared into the thin air.

The ghost of an old witch was perceived in Askew Branch reading a newsletter. The ghost was gobbled up by the night after being seen.

A guy with a large hole through his chest has repeatedly been distinguished trying to find a woman in Elsah Historic District around midnight.

A lady's body with a goat's head is regularly perceived next to the shore at Wilkinson Pond weeping. One of the residents strongly claims that this phantom is the tormented soul of a long

    gone Dow resident.

A guy having the head of a beast has been said to have been perceived on frequent instances after midnight climbing out of Car of Commerce Chute covered in slime. A number of of the folks who live in this town claim this ghost is that of a local who lived here in Dow before the present. In any event, it's a creepy ghost that any sensible person wouldn't want to meet.
