In June, 2008 the Litchfield Ghost Trackers Group went to the James J Eldred house on an investigation. Two images were captured on the infrared cameras. We were able to stop the motion of one that we believe to possibly be one of the deceased girls. The second is too blurry to make out any features but can be seen on the motion version. We recently returned to Eldred but are currently reviewing the 12 cameras we had set up. You'll have to wait until later.

The daylight hours in Eldred, Illinois are the same as daylight hours anywhere else, but there are peculiar things going down in this settlement in the moonlight hours. Some of the departed decline to pass on in this municipality. Several folks who live here assert these stories are lies, but there truly are chilling things going down here in Eldred during the night.

The ghost of a guy dressed as a handy man is often distinguished glugging down blood from a glass in Bushnell Hollow around midnight.
The spirit of a gentleman sporting a police outfit can regularly be spotted by Bests Pond Dam at night gazing at the water. Local people claim that this phantom is the tormented soul of a long gone Eldred person who lived here. Regardless of what people express, it's a frightening ghost that should be shunned.
