Elgin, Illinois Ghost Tales Fulton Street, Elgin, IL. There is a ghost watching over this house. I believe it to be Laura, the once new bride the house was once built for. She was angered at first by heavy repairs done to the house and her temper scared on many a night and day. Though, as time showed things being done to the house were restoring it.. She calmed. She would go into the children's rooms at night and cover them on cold evenings. She would take objects from the house but bring them back when asked.. She once even left a gift of hat pins. She was not a spirit alone in the house, though. Someone, something, with anger spilling from their deep, also resides there.. Don't spend late evening hours alone in the room to the left of the bottom basement steps, it leaves that furnace room at times........ And I fear one day the wrong souls of new owners may move in, and perhaps the sweet music coming from old St. Mary's Church a few doors down will no longer hold back the secrets about that house my children, my spouse and I know. . Every one that has ever lived there has had a ghostly encounter I myself was getting my daughter out of the bath tub as I was drying off her leg something out of the corner of my eye caught my attention I looked over and I saw the legs of a man standing right next to me.
