who were there must have been pretty surprised to see a slightly-chubby Emo kid booking it from the north. I was running, fast, away from the cold, disturbing, awkwardly-creepy feeling that had begun to creep over me once those voices suddenly stopped. When I got home, I sat for a while and thought about it. Had I just had a paranormal experience? It suddenly dawned on me that not only were there several known shipwrecks in the immediate area from Winnetka

to downtown Evanston, but many other drownings have occurred when steamers used to run aground on sandbars back when the old lighthouse was vitally important,

as the museum curators there had once told me.
I had forgotten all of this information up until that moment, and that was when I put two and two together; I had just heard the panicked voices of mariners as their vessel was going down into those fickle turquoise waters, only somehow trapped in time. I am a pretty cynical and science-focused guy, but there was absolutely no other way of explaining what I had heard. As creepy as this might sound
