Gardner, Illinois Ghost Tales At night, when you walk past the two story Spencer's antique shop, only one light glows in the upper right side window. Some friends, parents, and I have seen this every night for the past week. As we watched, something constantly flickered past the window and a human form walks in front. This happens repeatedly, even though the building is empty. As you stand there you feel as though you're being watched. We all think something lives in this building, one of the oldest in the town. The phantoms of this settlement don’t leave anyone unalarmed. Skeptics don't believe in the local phantom stories, but the phantoms of Gardner are out tonight trying to find someone to freak out. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a young lady dressed as a house keeper has allegedly been       noticed on numerous instances gazing at the water by Montgomery Dam and Lock in the early morning hours. Regardless of what, it undeniably is a chilling ghost that any normal person wouldn't wish to run into.
