The water tower is the location of the former city well. There was a natural spring there that the early founders would use as a water source. Who knows what all went on there.|

The water tower on Mill and Gaskins is haunted. I used to live nearby and sometimes I would see a figure standing under the water tower. Sometimes I would think I saw someone jump from the water tower but there was no one there.
We had a party one time and a couple of my friends saw it too and they yelled out for people to call the police so I had to calm them down and tell them that was just the water tower ghost. I've been wanting to find out the history of the water tower but I don't know how to go about that.|

Comment by Lynn: I remember along time ago hearing about a house that once stood on the corner belonged to a family who was murdered there. Maybe back in the 1930s or 40s. Not sure if it's true.
