Marshall's men in 1930s lots and lots of coal miner's sudden deaths strife between southern baptist (claiming they all came over on the mayflower) and     catholics (mostly italian immigrants working in the mines). All of this is documented in the book ''bloody williamson'' ( a very eye-opening read) published by the southern Illinois University press. So the probability of ghosts is very high in that town and area of southern Illinois.
