Chairs turn about, talk coming out of the darkness. Some folks who live here say these stories are not true, but the undeparted souls of Hidalgo are all too real.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The ghost of an old prospector with a large beard and a wooden right leg was seen at Lake Sandpoint Dam late at night yelling names. The spirit spoke of avenging an assassination.

The ghost of an elderly Indian chief was distinguished in Sam Parr State Park at midnight hauling a cadaver through some bushes. The spirit didn't seem to be agonized by the bystanders. According to the local residents, this ghost could

be a well-known past native of Hidalgo.

A black as coal rat that shifted shape into a female was made out trying to get cars to stop next to a shady road next to Hidalgo. The ghost reacted to the viewer.

The ghost of a young-looking woman clothed as a maid is regularly seen mailing a packet at a Hidalgo post office. In any case, it's a chilling phantom that you wouldn't wish to encounter at night.
