Day in Machesney Park, Illinois is exactly the same as daytime anywhere else in the States, but if you are easily alarmed, you'd best not come this area during the moonlight hours. The undeparted are in this town as the folks who live here will tell you. Several folks who live here claim there are no ghosts, but if you have the guts to stay for the night in Machesney Park, you may perhaps perceive a ghost for yourself.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The ghost of an elderly gentleman with a large white beard was noticed in Atwood Homestead County Forest Preserve in the early morning hours carving a cavity in the earth. Other accounts of this ghost have been described. Anyhow, this is an intimidating ghost that any sound person wouldn't want
 
    to come across.

The ghost of a gentleman sporting a soldier's uniform came into view in Alpine Meadows Playground very late at night frightening folks. Other people close by have had similar events with an identical ghost.

A knight's armor lacking a human inside appeared repositioning orbs about beside the shore at Pierce Lake. This phantom
  is extremely active in this vicinity; there have been a small number of additional stories of this individual phantom. A local man says that this ghost might be a recognized past inhabitant of Machesney Park.

A partially translucent man clothed as the skipper of a liner was distinguished on the top of Lookout Point around midnight observing the panorama. This is one of those ghosts that is spotted frequently in the vicinity. One of the folks who live here steadfastly says that this ghost is the tormented spirit of a long gone Machesney Park local person.

The ghost of a young guy wearing a confederate uniform has often been perceived looking chilling mid stream in Dry Creek. Several people allege this ghost is the ghost of a traveler that was murdered while journeying through Machesney Park before the present. In any event, it's a chilling ghost that should be shunned.

The ghost of a strapped up man is frequently observed gazing angrily at the witness at Alpine Dam in the early morning hours before sunrise.

The phantom
of a young-looking woman covered in blood has been witnessed on a few instances going wild beside Hulland Spring in the early morning hours.
