Makanda, Illinois Ghost Tales


While the sun shines the folks who live here in Makanda, Illinois go about their lives exactly the same as anywhere other, but undead ghosts of former times in this municipality don't seem to be determined to go away. Dark hour is living dead time here. Disbelievers don't trust in the local ghost reports, but not a hundred percent of the natives of Makanda are really alive.

A chilling skeleton has often been distinguished down near the water at Carbondale Reservoir clutching a human skull. Regardless of what people state, it's a frightening ghost that is preferably not upset.

    Campus Lake Dam after midnight.

The ghost of a pregnant woman can repeatedly be spotted pulling a dead body from the chilly water of Clay Lick Creek in the early morning hours.
