Metropolis, Illinois Ghost Tales    We stayed at a motel in Metropolis on October 11, 2009. I looked down the hallway and thought to myself that this was the crepiest hallway I had ever seen. I took a picture of the HALLWAY only to send via picture message and when I loked at the picture to send it, I noticed this figure that WAS NOT in the hallway. Night hour is undeceased time around here. Some locals allege these reports are untrue, but if you dare to stay overnight in Metropolis, you may very well notice a ghost for yourself. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a man having on an armed forces uniform was made out in a residence in Metropolis. This is one of those ghosts that is observed often around here. Based on what the local residents argue, this phantom may very well be a distinguished yesteryear dweller of Metropolis. A knight's armor without a human being inside came into view in Fort Massac State Park late at night hauling a dead body across the ground. The watcher fled when he noticed the ghost. The phantom of a woman with a sack tied around her head was spotted staggering down a wild highway       near Metropolis. The ghost unmoved that there was somebody else there. A large menacing ghost emerged glancing at the view from the peak of Round Knob very late at night. When the witness showed up the ghost ran off. Folks here who have witnessed this phantom say this phantom is perhaps the tormented phantom of a local who used to dwell here   in Metropolis. No matter what, it's a scary phantom that you would not want to come across late in the night. The ghost of a young guy wearing a confederate uniform was noticed pulling a cadaver from the freezing water of Barnes Creek at midnight. The ghost talked about avenging a homicide. A woman who lives here alleges that this ghost is the undeparted soul of a long forgotten Metropolis person who lived here. The spirit of a street bum was noticed sitting on a couch in a building next to Metropolis. The onlooker was terrified and ran away. One of the people who live here decisively alleges that this ghost is the ghost of a visitor that was murdered while driving through Metropolis in the past. The ghost of a youthful woman soaked in blood has regularly been witnessed around midnight hurrying after a passing car on a shadowy road close to Metropolis. The ghost of an old sorceress is known to have been seen on a handful of occasions in the rear seat of a Chevy by the driver noticing the spirit in her rear view mirror late at night. One thing is for certain, it undeniably is a scary ghost that any commonsensical person wouldn't want to bump into.
