This spirit is very active in this vicinity; there have been a few other stories of this particular spirit. The phantom of an elderly female carrying a rifle was noticed looking wrathfully at the viewer by a lamppost in New Douglas. This is one of those ghosts that is witnessed repeatedly in close proximity. No matter what people express, it without a doubt is a menacing ghost that any commonsensical person would not want to bump into. The phantom of a waitress came into view going through the fridge in the kitchen of a New Douglas house at night. The watcher ran off when she saw the ghost. Residents here assert that this ghost is most likely the stressed ghost of a local person who used to have a house here in New Douglas.
