There has been said that in the old part of Owanico. A man had died in his apartment and his watch has been said to still be lying in the same place where he left it. And one day as I was riding back from Pana with a friend and I saw a ghostly appearance in the window of where he lived. Submitted by stephanie
Most of the people who live here in Owaneco, Illinois are merrily uninformed of the terrible secrets this settlement retains; there are ghosts in this settlement, and they come into view at night. Things happen here that cannot be given an explanation. People who have never stayed a day in this city will let you know it's untrue, but seeing is believing and if you spend the night here in Owaneco, you might catch a glimpse of a phantom.

A female with a partially transparent body has repeatedly been witnessed at Cottonwood Creek in the early morning hours tossing boulders into the flow.

is repeatedly distinguished mounding chunks of concrete in Jaycee Park at midnight. Residents here argue that this ghost likes frightening foolish people who dare to interrupt the serenity in Owaneco.
The ghost of a security guard with a bullet hole in his forehead has purportedly been spotted on numerous occasions looking at the water by Bertinettis Lake Dam at midnight. A local man says that this ghost could be the spirit of a local person who passed on here in Owaneco long ago.
