Plainfield, Illinois Ghost Sightings - PAGE 7

Comment by Kathleen: The room mentioned is the no- longer used coal room. The rope and so called other tools of violence were left by the real estate and later Plainfield workers who were there examining the condition ft the house. There are always people willing to make up scary stories about abandoned homes. I guess the object is to scare you.
Comment by Daniel: House on 119th Street.... Where exactly? The one in between 30 and Normantown? Where? Thanks.
Comment by Jack: I believe the address for the farm aforementioned farm is on W. 119th Street Plainfield Illinois. No one in Plainfield knows the whole story, at least none that I have talked to. It is for certain though that any time I have gone there or gone in, I have felt very wrong being there. Not in the way of illegal trespassing (seeing that it is private property with a sign now across the drive way stating NO trespassing) but in the way of someone watching you. Anyone I have ever brought there has felt the same. When my friends and I were comfortable enough to enter the main house we found belongings of the original owners but also remnants of other people in there that had obviously been ransacking the place.
There is no cell reception in the house. Our flashlights, all four, seemingly ran out of batteries at once. We were able to use our iPhone lights to continue our exploration until the raccoon. We called it a raccoon. A very heavy raccoon. We walked towards the stairs to see if we could get on the second level. That's when we heard the raccoon run across the upper level towards the stairs. Very loud. Heavy raccoon we guessed. Either way we did not stick around to find out. We left and have not returned to the house since. When anyone asks any of us to take them there we will not go past the middle of the driveway. We will refuse to go into the tree line. Believe it or not; it's up to you. But I know for a fact I WILL NOT ever go into that tree line again. So it is up to those who feel more adventurous than I.
Comment by Abbey: Me and a few friends went there and it was scary to say the least. We had been to all of the known ghost sighting places and haunted places that we could and then we heard about this one when we got there we had to keep circling to figure out where to park our car. After realizing there really was nowhere besides a church parking lot which was about a good half mile walk through the bushes and weeds behind the house we decided to drive in and park in the back behind the house.
Even sitting in the car you got the chills. All the abandoned cars and just so much weird decaying things we just decided to not go in. When we were coming out one of my friends cars got stuck right before the road. We were there for about 45 minutes before a man showed up cursing and screaming at us for being on his property (which was weird since the house looked like no one had been in it and we were in the field).
He called us all names and told us he would call the cops if we didn't leave.
After we explained that we had ''made a wrong turn'' and she had gotten stuck he decided to be nice in a very mean way and pull her car out. We did pay him for his help but we have never been back to the house and don't want to go back after encountering him.
If you decide to go find somewhere to park your car away from the house and be as quite as possible since there is a family or at least a man living in the house next to this place.
