The house behind the bar was the site of a horrible murder and as kids we used to hear footsteps coming up the steps in the middle of the night and then stopping at the top and never going anywhere. There was also a local legend that a man carrying a gunny sack walked the streets of Taylor Springs late at night hoping to catch small children and carry them away. The ghost of a       chained up gentleman can be seen often at American Zinc Smelter Company Large Lake Dam late at night looking at the panorama.
