Waukegan, Illinois Ghost Tales - PAGE 2 Many people who work in the Lake County Building in Waukegan, Illinois have told stories of haunting in the morgue. The first of these stories concerns the coroner who is not afraid of anything--basically seen it all. Those who work with him maintain that there is a ghost of a black woman or man (they can't be certain which it is) who has terrified the coroner and his assistants. They say it is an angry entity and all who have had the misfortune to witness it can't get away quickly enough. Also the ghost of an infant male who was found dead in a garbage dumpster remains there. The poor little guys body was taken to the morgue in Waukegan and kept there for over 2 years while they searched for his murderer or mother. The infant was never claimed and was eventually buried.... Funeral services, plot -- the good citizens of Waukegan paid for his burial -- even providing flowers and a plaque with the name they gave him on his grave site. Police officers who go down to the morgue claim to have heard a baby crying and       have even seen a baby laying on the table.... They believe this was the only place he ever felt loved and cared for.
