He figured that this man loved this house and would protect it. The new owner told my friend that he had done some research on the house at the library and found a photograph of the original owner...
The same man he and his family had seen appear in the house. The new owner also said that he and his wife decided to befriend this 'ghost' and told him he was welcome to share the house with them but that they owned it now and he had to accept the

changes that were being made as time had Marched on.
He said that since then they still hear snoring hear someone rooting around in the basement hear

footsteps in the attic above their bedrooms but have nad no more resistance to the changes they are making.

Comment by Bob/Robert: Yes I know the family. And it's very true... They do have an ethereal presence living in their home. But lately over the years apparently this presence has learned to relax and not be such an imposing guest in their home, things still are creepy but not as often...
