A local person claims       that this spirit is probably the tormented spirit of a person who used to live here in Altoona. A woman with a sword sticking out of her head can every now and then be made out striding through an Altoona area graveyard. The ghost of a female with a sack bound around her head was observed piling bricks quite near Elk City State Park.
