Many times unexplainable noises could be heard coming from those stairways, the attic and the basement. And because it was sitting next to the creek there were several sightings of a person walking along the creek bank and then vanishing and reappearing on the opposite bank including on top of the large hill on the opposite bank. There isn't much information on who the person might be or even where the hand came     from but it's been rumored that parts of a body could be scattered around the very large yard where large cottonwood trees now stand and even near the creek bank.
