My grand parents owned a farm house several miles south and a mile or so west of Home, Kansas. My mother grew up in this house which is across the road from a cemetary, which they helped maintain when they lived there. There are many stories of ghost activities, but one of the scariest stories was the time my Grand father took the kids to town to see a movie and my grandmother was home alone cleaning the house. The house has double french doors between the kitchen and the living room. My grand mother was cleaning the windows panes in the door and seen a mans face looking back at her. She was startled and jumped back and thought there was a man in the house. I believe it scared her bad enough that she went outside and waited until everyone returned home again after that incident. They also had numerous times when things would be moved about the house at night when everyone was a sleep. This happened most of the time in the kitchen. Salt and pepper shakers and other kitchen items would be moved around from counters to tables. The other thing

that commonly happened was the door that went upstairs off the kitchen to the upstairs bedrooms would slam in the night. It didn't matter if it was closed or not, they would often hear the door slam during the night.
My uncle moved into Home city many years later when he retired in the 90's. One time we were visiting and someone told me that

the people that own the gas station in town owned the house that my grand parents used to own. I walked over and talked to them while we were visiting and told them that I heard that they owned the house that my grandparents used to live in. They said sure they owned it and had lived there for years. I then asked them if they ever had anything strange happen at the house. The lady I was talking too looked around like somebody was playing a joke on her and who put me up to ask these questions. I said that I was wondering because of the things that happened there when my grandparents lived there. After that they started telling me about simiilar things that have happened to them at the house. I can't remember the details, but I do remember the look on her face when I asked about the house.
My grandmother was a religious catholic woman and had her priest bless the house many times while they lived there. She didn't like to talk about it, but everyone knew the stories. I never knew these stories when I was little and we stayed there overnight

when I was 6 or 7. I don't think a night went by that I didn't have nightmares about ghosts when we stayed there. I never knew about any of these stories until I was a teenager.
