Leavenworth, Kansas Ghost Tales | |

I live in a normal sized house that is 107 years old+. Late at night we often hear an older woman crying sadly, over and over. We have also seen a blue light in the corner of our bedroom that grew to about two feet in diameter and the shrunk down slowly and disappeared. I have heard footsteps across the kitchen floor and then saw a small spot of bright white light fly through my door and across my room at varying angles. My three year old son has seen a man standing in my kitchen. My daughter has heard a scream. Blue lights have been seen multiple times illuminating above a bedroom door. One night while studying in my room late at night my bedroom door flew open so hard my door knocker swung and knocked several times. This is the first place I have ever lived where I have to leave the T.V. on just so I can sleep.

As a small girl, I lived at 1035 4th Avenue in Leav. Ks. To the left of our house was a large ravine, thickly wooded. Inside the creek was a weather-worn, yellow 2-story house that had been vacant for

years. In the summer time it was hidden behind vegetation and in the winter, it was in full view. I come from a family of nine children and late at nite we could hear a woman crying from the house. She would cry in a child-like voice off and on during the night. Eventually, one summer, that house burned to the ground. It was unreachable by the

fire department, but amazingly only the house itself, burned. To this day I believe my father burned the house down. He had once said, he'd heard her too.

During the daylight hours Leavenworth, Kansas is a standard US city, but some former folks from yesteryear have come back to this place. Some of the dead don't want to rest in this town. A number of locals say there are no spirits, but a journey to Leavenworth, Kansas will make anyone believe.

again in this area. No matter what, it's undeniably a frightening ghost that you do not want to encounter in the early morning hours before sunrise.
