Ogden, Kansas Ghost Tales

While driving around one evening, A friend and I chose to stop at the St. Patrick Cemetery. It was around midnight, and since it was close to Halloween we were just talking about ghost and such. Her 3 year old daughter had been asleep in the truck, and since our husbands were deployed we had no real place to be. We had been parked outside the gate for awhile when her daughter began laughing and talking as if there were another child in my SUV. We both looked very solemnly at her and asked what she was laughing at and what was she talking about. Her response was ''That boy'', we proceeded to look around a bit, because what boy would be out this late, and the parental instinct in each of us wanted to keep this child safe. We looked around, and could not see anyone, so we asked more and more questions of her. She acted as though we were the blindest people on earth, and said right there, literally pointing just outside of my SUV. We decided to leave just then, but we continued to ask questions of her. We wanted to make sure she was not imagining anything. She tolls us he was ''William'' and that he was ''My age'' and he dressed funny. Also that he was sick, with a tummy ache. Today I returned to the cemetery that I had pushed out of my mind. There was a very tempting reason. While wandering around for my ''Reason'' my husband was wandering around the stones. He called me over to something that looked interesting to him. I will include the picture, however the information on the stone is: Williham Joseph Saler (A slightly different spelling, but Id assume it would be pronounced William) A 3 year old boy, Died in May in 1876 (I believe) This would fit the cholera epidemic that so violently tore through the area, leaving devastation in its wake. For those unaware, Cholera is a very intense stomach virus, It very quickly dehydrates and makes you ill with diarrhea and vomiting. Much like the stomach flu. Its enough to make any skeptic uneasy. .
