Charleston, Missouri Ghost Tales


While the sun is up Charleston, Missouri is your regular American settlement, but undead phantoms of long ago in this settlement don't appear to aim to go away. Lots of ghost stories have been exposed by the residents. Disbelievers don't have faith in the local ghost testimonies, but the undead spirits of Charleston are all too real.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The ghost of a young woman with a cable around her neck has allegedly been witnessed on several instances at the stroke of midnight leading a guided exploration of Dog Tooth Bend to a cluster of ghosts. One thing is for sure, this ghost undoubtedly is menacing; one that is better not disturbed.

A gentleman devoid of a head can often be spotted trying to get cars to stop along a murky highway right next door to Charleston. Residents here assert that this ghost can be the soul of a local who died here in Charleston before the present.

The phantom of an aged prospector with a large beard and a wooden leg
 
    may be made out over and over again in Browns Bar before sunrise trying to locate a box. A local declares that this ghost could be a well-known yesteryear native of Charleston.

The ghost of an old woman clutching a gun has every now and then been perceived slurping milk by the water at Brooks Point.

The spirit of a flight attendant is
  every now and then seen smoking a pipe at Upper Big Lake Dam late at night. One of the people who live here confidently asserts that this phantom is almost certainly the struggling phantom of a resident who used to have a house here in Charleston.

The ghost of an old Indian chief is known to have been spotted on a handful of instances before dawn drifting down on Big Lake Bayou.

The ghost of an old cleaning lady can from time to time be made out mailing an envelope at a Charleston post office.

The phantom of a young-looking woman dressed as a maid was observed weeping in Columbus-Belmont Battlefield State Park by the park headquarters. This is one of those phantoms that is witnessed frequently close by.

The ghost of a young-looking cowboy showed up speaking into the thin air as if someone besides was there. The viewer fled immediately after she saw the ghost.

The ghost of a miner appeared looking through building windows in Charleston late at night. When the onlooker showed up the ghost ran off.

The
ghost of a guy dressed as a janitor was perceived watching cable in a Charleston living room very late at night. The ghost spoke of avenging a killing. Some of those who live here declare this ghost is the undeceased soul of a former Charleston local.
