Excelsior Springs, Missouri Ghost Tales I've been at the Excelsior Springs Job Corps for about 4 months now, and I can honestly say not a single thing has happened to make me believe that it may be haunted. Although I CAN say that wandering around in town at night does give me the creeps. This place is just so old and eerie..... But I'm not sure I believe its HAUNTED. Submitted by Kristi       Category: home I attended excelsior springs job corp. and it is one of the most haunted places I have ever seen. Most of the center was originally a veterans hospital. the hall that the narcotic team stayed in had a mental ward on the forth floor with shatter proof mirrors still intact,. When the painters went up to remodel they would pass rooms with open doors and when they passed again, the doors would be closed and locked from the inside. I was out in the smoking area and saw a man in a hospital gown standing on the roof with his iv pole. I later learned that a man from the mental ward had committed suicide from that spot on the roof. You should also see people in old nurses uniforms walking       in the skywalk connecting the narcotic hall with the old rec hall. In the basement where you were fitted for your uniform you could hear what sounded like someone hitting the pipes with a wrench. there is a trail behind the police station where you can sit under the bridge. I was sitting down there with several friends and I got a funny feeling. I   looked across the creek and could see orbs covering almost every inch of the bank. The elms hotel was ano0ther very eerie place. I looked over at one point and could swear that the buildings sign was on fire. When we got to the hotel the smoke and fire was gone. A young girl dressed in a bloody wedding dress has from time to time been perceived hiding a cadaver by a sizeable boulder in Siloam Park at night. It's been asserted that this particular ghost may well be a distinguished days gone by inhabitant of Excelsior Springs.
