I was in Alpha Co. 1-48 inf. Fort Leonardwood, MO as well through basic training. I was on the second floor, the third platoon. As soon as I heard there were ghost sightings (towards the end of training) I wanted to see for myself. The only soldiers who witnessed anything were on the third floor. The ghost sightings were brought to all of our attention by our First Sergeant who said every interaction of soldiers said the same thing about a ghost. He went on the say someone killed themselves, and strange things have always happened. That was all he said.
I talked to soldiers on the third floor who said they saw something. Their experiences were very similar to yours. Things normally happened on fire guard at night time. One guy told me he saw a DS dressed in old BDUs go to the latrine with a laundry bag of clothes because the washer and dryer were in the latrine. He asked the drill Sgt. Where he was going since he was responsible for all soldiers on floor and followed him into the latrine, but no one was in the latrine! Anyway, I thought it was awesome to see something about this on the net.

While in BCT at Ft. Leonardwood, Alpha 1-48. There were a few questionable things that went on, upon which someone could say were paranormal. I was in 4th Platoon, where we were bunked up on the third floor, right wing. I can remember a few things I saw first hand, that made me go... Huh?.. Along with what all the rumors were, with what others there had seen. Now remember, for those who haven't been there, we were in BCT, so there was always a ton of stuff going through all of our heads. Shine boots, pull fire guard duty, PFT scores, Inspections, and so on. So when this all happened, it wasn't until about the end of BCT, that we all started to ask each other, ''What was that?''
My first experience was one night while on Fire Guard watch, and while sweeping the floor near the stairwell. I could have swore I saw, a DS walking up the stairs, Brown Round cocked down, to where I could not see his face, and the weird part that struck me was. Normally you can hear if someone is walking up the stairs, even with the doors closed. Not this time. Just thinking that this was a sneaky way to mess with us, I warned my Battle at the time he was coming. We both assumed our assigned positions, and prepared ourselves for any questions he may or would ask. But, to my surprise, and my Battle's nerves, NO ONE entered our floor. And NO NOISE of someone was heard at all. That DS was on the second landing. A- We should have heard him either coming up, or for the matter, B- turning around, and going back down. Nope, Nothing. All well, we thought, at least we're not going to get messed with tonight. Well, this was just the beginning of a long 9 weeks.
Soon, about a month in, we started getting rumors of ghost in the company barracks. Just rumors we thought at first, until we all woke up to someone in second squad's bay yelling. Supposedly, according to that PFC, he saw a DS standing in the door way, hat cocked down to where you couldn't see the face. ''He was right by the fan, and then just disappeared. '' Bad dream we all thought. But it gets better.
