There had always been a rumor of the place being haunted even before I started working there. Sometimes there would be a child crying but when we would look the children would be asleep. The child crying didn't happen every night but the perfume and humming did.

In the early 1970s I worked at the old Saline County Rest Home and it was haunted. I worked the 11-7 shift and worked with 4 other women. We would here strange noises that would start up at about 12:30 a.m. every morning and would last for hours.
There would be glass breaking when no glass was being broke low moaning and growling doors slamming footsteps shadows going into rooms a woman screaming lights by going on and off music playing a song from the 1920s and whistling. All of us knew it was the ghost.|

You must check out our old house on Jefferson St. It's a lady my sister and I was very young when we lived there. I can remember that lady to this day. We do not own the house any more; it has sold time and time again but no one stays very long..
It's known as being the first house built in Marshall.. It's still there and I still feel her in that house; she's not very nice.
