To answer that question no it is not open to the public. It is private property. No nobody is allowed to go through it at all. I have been through there but cannot and will not divulge any information except to say that yes the place is haunted. However the entire town of Osceola Missouri is haunted in my opinion.     Submitted by Toarac        Category: farm Has anyone been through the poor farm? Submitted by Clt Comment by Schelie: My brother and I went in there. January 20th 2013. And I know we weren't allowed to but he knew the people on the grounds and yes it was spooky. Even went to the basement where they did the testing on the children. The walls were 9by9 and rock walls, very cold, and parts of the walls were like broken in areas. Like the children were trying to get out. It was unsettling. So I don't recommend anyone to go there, the history is interesting though. I will send a picture of it we took. I feel for the children that were there and what happened to them. I believe their spirits are trapped there. I got chills and scared myself in the basement. My brother was climbing up the stairs and I started running because I was on the other side of the wall alone. I about started to cry. Shaking until I caught up with my brother. We went into this one room on the first floor where they say a guy lived and he just picked up and left all his stuff, and I saw it. They say he just disappeared, and the story told to me he left the TV on cartoon because he said the children told him to, they liked them. Scary huh? Now that man is committed to an insane hospital. Very uncomfortable feeling. There was a Halloween party there and there are bodies drawn on the walls and scary sayings, like demons in this house roam free. And lost souls, enter at own risk. I will never forget this experience.
