Not everything in Philadelphia, Missouri is as it appears; undeparted ghosts of former times in this town don't appear to intend to die. Ghosts are so common in this town; loads of locals don’t even think about it any longer. Doubters don't have faith in the local phantom tales, but only some of the residents of Philadelphia are quite alive.

A medieval knight's armor devoid of a person inside has from time to time been witnessed staring irritably at the witness down beside the shore at Sandifer Lake.
A fairly see-through man outfitted as the skipper of a fishing boat is sometimes seen at Brower Branch at the stroke of midnight hurling boulders into the flow.
A sizeable chilling spirit has supposedly been spotted on frequent occasions in Elmslie Memorial

State Forest before sunrise camping. Folks say that this ghost is probably the undeceased ghost of a person who used to reside here in Philadelphia. Regardless of what people articulate, this is an unfriendly ghost that any normal person would not want to run into.
