Poplar Bluff, Missouri Ghost Tales I recently went out to the train tracks down Wilcox rd.with my brother and his two friends. We parked the car and sat on the tracks at 12:00am we waited 15 min, and nothing happened except it got really foggy. We then walked down the tracks screamin for the women, then we herd something moving in the ditch and it looked like a shadow about the size of a full grown man so then we ran back to the car and left. I can give a couple tips though go on full moon, if you go down the road and you see the tracks walk down the left side of the tracks. . Recently I went there and waited for two hours only to be wasting my time. However, I will not give up. The story supposedly goes that a passenger car wrecked there killing all the passengers or most of them. The conductor was supposedly decapitated, and a pregnant women       supposedly had her child ripped from her womb. Both died of course. It is said that around midnight if you pull your car close to or on the tracks the windows will fog up. After that, you will hear the trains whistle and possibly see lights. After it passes there is supposed to be a woman that may knock on your window asking if you seen her baby. Like   I said, I have seen nothing and may not ever. But I do find this topic very much worth posting and checking out. Submitted by Dennis       Categories: train, railroad A ghost of a man wearing a black suit and hat has been sighted on more than one occasion inside of a residence on Skyline Drive in Poplar Bluff.  It is reported that a family residing in the home first heard footsteps up and down the hallway at night, with increasing speed and loudness.  Soon after, all of the taps in the bathrooms would turn on with full power at the same time.  Breathing could be heard by members of the family, that seemed to come from thin air.  Shadows would be spotted pacing in front of the Master bathroom doorway.  The spirit manifests itself with a half bodied apparition and is seen gliding from the hallway and entering the Master bedroom, which is the room in which he passed. . He never arrived. The young woman went home and waited. She found out weeks later that he had not been on a business trip, but with his mistress. The young woman was so distraught that she went back to the train station and jumped in front of the very train her husband was supposed to be arriving on weeks before. People have reported seeing her waiting at the train station asking when train 21 from Chicago would be arriving.
