The spirit of a civil war fighter was witnessed glugging down diesel from a gasoline pump at a refueling station in Portland. Other reports of this ghost have been conveyed. One of the locals definitely asserts that this spirit is the spirit of a traveler that was killed while driving through Portland many years ago.
