Sedalia, Missouri Ghost Tales

A friend and I one beautiful afternoon were sitting on a hill in the countryside outside of town (south of it I think) and we both had a cold creepy eerie feeling.  Sitting we both turned out heads in the direction of where ''it'' was coming from.  Standing with a civil war type sword at his side was a ghost.  You could see right through him like a hologram.  His eye sockets were strange and like glowing red coals.  His face looked mournful!  He wore no hat but he was wearing a very tattered uniform and it looked like he had union colors on the bottom and confederate on the top. I think he had no shoes, the pants were in shreds at the bottom. We both took off running as hard as we could it was that frightening.  This is a true story.  Later we learned that the men had mutinied on an officer for his cruelty and refused to allow him to be buried in a field near this.  I understand this area also was known for indian activity/burial.

A lady near cherry tree lane was in a car accident and everynight at midnight people claim there is a loud scream... they say it is the same woman who wrecked there years ago.

While working night shift as a nurse in a long term care facility, an elderly resident had passed. As I stood outside the
room, a cold damp cloud moved over and through me,.

Sedalia, Missouri is just like any other place in the daylight hours, but the spirit stories conveyed by the locals are sufficient to make anyone think again about stopping over around here. Some of the dead and buried refuse to stay underground in this municipality. Folks who have never stayed a day in this municipality will inform you it's all just superstition, but chilling things certainly go on here in Sedalia in the moonlight hours.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

A woman with no head is occasionally spotted performing a song on a fiddle in a Sedalia apartment. Whatever people express, this ghost indisputably is scary; one that should be shunned.

The phantom of a youthful woman with a wire around her neck is known to have been observed on numerous instances in a Sedalia school late at night staggering the corridors. Any which way, this is a nasty ghost that is preferably not
disrupted.
