and I pulled in the drive and made contact with the new residents. I explained who I was and why I was there. As I began explaining what I heard as a child, her eyes got big and she finished my sentences ''banging and chains!''
I told her the history of the home and that she had nothing to fear. She thanked me for stopping by, and she told me that she had heard the noises from the first day she moved in. I still remember the address to the house;

it's the only address I remember as a child. For the respect of the owners I won't list it. I do plan on going back and asking for permission to investigate

the residence. .
