Windyville, Missouri Ghost Tales I paddled up river from the cave. A young woman, with long hair, in a short sun dress, was kicking and splashing in the river. She waved . . I raised my paddle and waved back. As I got closer . . She ran off, up the mud bank. I reached camp. My wife was dressed nothing like the girl nor, had she seen any one around. The banks the girl ran into are covered in razor weed. The nearest farm/building is over a mile away. I've researched a bit . . And found a killing, years ago, dealing with infidelity. As a floater, I usually go down river . . Seldom up. I told the story to a friend . . He said ''Don't mention it again!'' . . ''You saw the other side!''. Submitted by David       Categories: river, lady We camped on a gravel bar up river from the cave.  Fishing and floating all day we put down about 10:00 that night.  Quiet and peaceful . . till later.  There was a gun shot and something dropped in the woods.  I thought it was coon hunters but, no commotion . . no dogs . .  nothing!   I sat up for an hour . . pistols loaded       . . thinking I saw things that never appeared. . They are seen to be learking around the area. A red eyed deamon has been reported several   times- seen in yards and residental lands. There is supposedly a cave that is haunted by indian tribes. There is also a hill side supposedly to be read ''GO Away'' at exactly 12:02am. A story of a child and his baby sitter who came up missing years ago said to be seen and heard near a local trailer. And coolest of all the ''True'' story of the amityville horror house is located here.
