We stopped for water and a driving break at a gas station after miles and miles of darkness. She said we would find the post     office on the same road at the edge of town. We drove towards Brule with our bright headlights bouncing off nothing but a deserted dark road, until I saw Him! I found it strange to see a young attractive white man roller skating in a muted yellow shirt and tight orange and brown short-shorts at this hour towards us on the opposite side of the road, my eyes focused on him for a fraction of a second but when he should have passed next to our driver side window, he disappeared!
