During the daytime Pilger, Nebraska is like any other US municipality, but after sunset a person may perhaps distinguish some chilling things. Spirits are so regular here; many local residents don’t even lose sleep about it anymore. Skeptics don't have faith in the local spirit stories, but if you are bold enough to spend the night in Pilger, you may very well notice a spirit for yourself.

The phantom of a man outfitted as a car mechanic is often witnessed at Cedar Creek at the stroke of midnight chucking
 
    boulders into the stream. In any event, this is a hostile ghost that you shouldn't go searching for.

A female with a partly translucent body has supposedly been perceived on many occasions standing by a deserted highway in the neighborhood of Pilger. Locals who have noticed this phantom say this phantom takes pleasure in frightening folks who dare to interrupt the silence in Pilger.
