Staplehurst, Nebraska Ghost Tales I have lived in staplehurst I lived right next to the bar which is right across the street from the park and there were some bad things that happened to me, my wife, and my roommates.  We had at least three separate ghost in our second story apt every night after I would get off of work we would hear footsteps from up above in the attic.  Also my roommate was sleeping on the couch and heard a person in the room with him when he awoke there was no one to be found.  And another time he saw what appeared to be the outline of a female.  Late at night when I was alone I encountered what appeared to be a poltergeist.  The lights started flickering and chairs were being moved then it just stopped and I slept out in my car that night.
