An incredibly scary ghost has been said to have been distinguished on a few occasions gazing at the water by Arkansas Noname Five Dam at night. A local person claims that this spirit is perhaps the
  undead spirit of a local resident who used to have a home here in Austin.

The ghost of an elderly prospector with a big mustache and a hook instead of his hand can regularly be seen heaving bricks into the flow at Dubb Creek before sunrise. Several of those who live here claim this spirit is the tormented soul of a long forgotten Austin local person.

The ghost of a flight attendant has occasionally been noticed at the stroke of midnight glancing across Ford Bottoms. If you talk to the locals, this phantom is that of a local resident who dwelled here in Austin a long time ago.

The ghost of an old cleaning lady is now and then seen down at Quapaw Mineral Springs at night looking.
