My husband and I moved to Helena from Marianna in 1972 and our first home was a duplex on Perry Street. It had been owned by a funeral home owner. It had not been one though, but maybe he brought spirits home , because the place was full of ghosts, including the phantom , Chinese House boy, an elderly gentleman smoking a pipe and a little old lady. When I was pregnant with my son in 1975, my husband would leave early

for his route and I would be sleeping. I would wake up and feel the presence of someone watching over me. I opened my eyes to see the man standing

over me. Shortly before I had the baby , the voice of a little old lady said, '' Darling, you will almost die when the baby comes , but we will watch over you and all will be well . '' I did almost die from sepsis after the delivery but I did survive and all was well. After the baby was born , we saw no more ghosts, I guess Bo was so loud that his crying scared them off.
