Lowell, Arkansas Ghost Tales | |
|
During the early 60's my future wife and I were driving around Lowell late at night.Lowell was a small quiet little town then, totally different than now. Anyway we were east of town and turned north onto a dark road and had traveled about 1/4 mile. Suddenly, from the front gate of an old house on the left side of the road a figure of a ghostly young female dressed in a flowing white dress or negligee ran (floated? ) across the road right in front of us! She looked neither right nor left and ran into a dark field on the right side of the road. We were so stunned and shaken by this that we literally couldn't speak and didn't immediately stop, but continued a short distance down the road where we agreed to go back and see what we could see. We were both admittedly scared but drove back to the spot of the occurence. There was no sign of the object of our encounter. But, make no mistake, we saw a ghost! The road is called old wire road, ( From Hyway 71 go east on Barbara Ave. a short distance and turn left on Old Wire Rd.) My wife

and I recently went back to see if the old house is still there. It is. I took a few pictures of the house and yard. The old wire fence appears to be the same, but the gate has been replaced with a common chain link gate. The place still looks the same, big trees..somewhat rundown. I am uploading a couple of the photos. If you want to see the house

you should be able to find it easily. We have lived in Tulsa for the last 43 years but still visit Arkansas 3 or 4 times a year. We had 2 or 3 other strange experiences during our dating days, but that's another story. Submitted by anonymous
At first glance Lowell, Arkansas appears like your regular city, but there are ghosts in this city, and they become visible in the dark hours. There have been loads of incidents with persons from another dimension. Several people who live here assert these stories are not true, but not a hundred percent of the locals of Lowell are really alive.
These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.
The spirit of a brawny lumberjack clutching a sizeable axe is frequently made out calling out names of people up on Callahan Mountain. Some folks allege this ghost could be the spirit of a person who lived here who passed away here in Lowell before the present.
The scary spirit of a Gaul has supposedly been noticed on one or two occasions trying

on socks in a Lowell residence. If you talk to the residents, this spirit is possibly the undeceased spirit of a person who used to have a home here in Lowell.
