I lived in Marcella for 20 years and even grew up in the old ''hess house. '' my old House is pretty much the biggest thing there and I can admit that it can look a little scary with its two Story frame complete with balcony and surrounding historical out buildings. The House was built in 1900 and definitely creaks! I can remember lying awake Many nights because     I would hear the stairs creaking in the middle of the night. I stayed there alone for two weeks when I was 18 and I admit that I slept downstairs on the Couch with my hand dangling on a double barrelled shotgun. Looking back on it now I recall a few things that seemed a bit out of the ordinary about the place. Everytime I walked up the stairs I got the feeling that something was peering at me from my parents bedroom which was at the base of the stairs. I was almost scared the most when I would go out to the old smokehouse that housed the Wood furnace that   (continued on the next page...)
