Marmaduke, Arkansas Ghost Tales I was on patrol recently when i received a call concerning a prowler in an elderly womans yard. upon my arrival at the residence the homeowner advised me that she had seen an eerie figure in a window at the rear of her residence. I did the usual investigation looking for footprints in the yard and searching nearby sheds and buildings but had found no evidence of a prowler. I returned to the police station and told my fellow officers that there had been a call at the residence. I was shocked to discover that the house had been empty for years with no residents at all. I returned to the residence with another officer to speak with the elderly woman that i had spoken with earlier. to my shagrin there was no answer at the door and upon inspection of the residence there were no signs of life where there had been only an hour earlier. i am new to the town and am not versed in the history of its residents, but as we stood in the empty expanse that had once been a living room my partner told me that a local spirit or beast called the ''Chamberlain''       had been reared from birth in said residence. when he began to speak of the chamberlain we began to hear strange noises in the upstairs of the residence. we climbed the steps to investigate, and the closer we drew to the upper rooms the more we could notice a horrid smell apparently known to accompany the chamberlain. The smell has been described as   cheap hair tonic, possibly lilac and high karate after shave. we searched two rooms and saw nothing but in the third bedroom we found what locals call the chamberlain! we drew our weapons because what we saw shook our very beliefs! we called to the creature but it sat quietly never moving or even acknowledging our existence. The creature was in close proximity to a female subject who resembled the elderly woman from before, but was now much younger and dressed like a prostitute out of miami vice! we called to the beast again and on our second command the creature jumped from the second story window and moved quickly toward the barber shop close to main street. that seemed to frighten the chamberlain and it then turned quickly and moved to a delurian car that was parked nearby. even though we were awestruck we stopped watching it long enough to run downstairs to try to apprehend the thing. when we got downstairs it was gone along with the car. the prostitute is still in critical condition and has yet to be able to give a statement. the chamberlain is real, and is very dangerous.
