Mountainburg, Arkansas Ghost Tales In some old houses that people live in now..There will be grandparents or just elders that have passed away there. But I know of one house that you can still smell the blueberry muffins that this woman used to cook every morning. You can smell the blueberry muffins usually close to the first day of the month. I doubt the lady means any harm but its pretty spooky. Submitted by anonymous       Categories: home, lady IN Mountainburg on La Rue rd. there was a haunted trail put together a few years ago as a fundraiser.  There  was a lady from out of state that after she went through the woods said that she would never come to this town again.  Apparently she was at the end of the group going through and  turned to look back and see a figure following her, thinking it was a child in the group she reached out to grab them only to have her arm go through the figure .   Also,  on the same hillside on a very calm day walking through the woods  footsteps moved beside me and a rope used to mark the trail       was moving very hard.    We have a relative  that was killed on this hill in the 1930's or sometime in there.   There is an old rock house also on the property and when someone was living there strange things would happen. Such as a rocking chair moving  on its own and  someone calling my dads name, then him feeling someone reach out and touch his   arm. Like a door that opened and closed for no reason. An old gentleman would walk thru the house as if no one was there. You could be in bed and feel the bed tip as if somebody sat down beside you. You always had the feeling that somebody was sneaking up on you.
