Ola, Arkansas Ghost Tales In 1964 my sister and I stayed for three weeks with our Grandmother in Ola, Arkansas.  The last Wednesday before we were to leave for home our Grandmother heard a lot of noise in the kitchen.  She had my sister and I listen.  Chairs were being thrown around, glass was breaking.  We were scared.  Grandma handed us a little knife and we all got up and ran down the stairs.  At the bottom of the stairs you could actually hear the footsteps of someone walking down the steps we had just been on.  It sounded like they had coins in their pocket, but no one was visable.  The overseer of the house lived on the first floor.  She let us spend the rest of the night with her.  Early the next morning we went back up the stairs.  Not one thing had been moved in the kitchen.  I had caught a flying bug under a pop cap the night before and it was still on the table.  We told Grandma we never wanted to spend another night in that house.  Our Aunt from Dardanelle came and picked us up.  She put us on a bus that Friday for home.  One week later my Grandma fell down the stairs and died.
