It was partually ajar, since none of the doors closed easily in the house, the foundation had moved so much over the years. the door seemed to open a little more, then I'd blink and it seemed to be almost closed and so on for what seemed forever. Then I heard my name,

in a whisper. I froze, tears rolled down my cheeks. I heard it again, very quick, very quiet. The dog just stared at the closet, very tense, my sister slept on, and then nothing. All was quiet, no popping, no settling noises, only my sister breathing and the dog whining a little. I was so happy when my parents got home. They got delayed in Little Rock, but they had no idea how terrified we were.
